14 Best Breakfast Restaurants in Key Largo

By now, you know I am a foodie. Let me clarify… I love food and spend most of my travels looking for amazing places to try. Breakfast, by far, is my most favorite meal. When we travel the Florida Keys, I always plan a few stops to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and, of course, Happy Hour.

Here’s my list of Key Largo restaurants you need to check out. They offer great breakfast menus filled with popular dishes. These friendly restaurants offer better choices than fast food places. Plus you will be supporting locals. Let’s explore Key Largo and popular restaurants along the Overseas Highway!

Harriette’s Restaurant

Quaint yellow shack serving down-home breakfast and lunch favorites … that is a major understatement for this place. Established in 1982 and built from where a small two-bedroom one-bathroom family home once stood, the family feel is still here. Rank #1 on most sites, Harriette’s Restuarant is loved by locals and tourists alike. The muffins are considered a Local Legend. With flavors like Key Lime, Key Lime Chocolate, cinnamon swirl, and Guava cream cheese, how could you go wrong? Open 7 days a week 6am to 3pm and serving breakfast and lunch. Located at Mile Marker 95.

Doc’s Diner

Voted the Best Breakfast, Best Lunch, Best Cup of Coffee, Best Restuarant Service, Best Down Home Cook, and Best Restaurant Value in the Upper Keys Peoples Choice Awards (1st and 2nd place) Doc’s Diner offers great food, large portions at reasonable prices. Weekday breakfast specials are served all day. Come Hungry!! Open daily 6am to 2pm. Located at Mile Marker 99.

Keys Bite

This place offers a very eclectic menu. From authentic Mexican fare to Hibachi grilled food to amazing breakfast choices. You will appreciate the choices on the menu. Keys Bite’s breakfast menu includes omelets, sweet bites, and one of my favorites chilaquiles. Open 7 days a week Sunday through Thursday 7am to 9pm and Friday/Saturday 7am to 10pm. Located at Mile Marker 99.

Alfredo’s Cookhouse

Old school diner dishing up hearty portions of breakfast, fresh seafood, Mexican fare, and diner classics. Sounds like an amazing place, right? Their lunch menu offers sandwiches served with great french fries. Always ranks high with great service and friendly staff. Alfredo’s is open Sunday – Thursday 8am to 9:30pm and Friday/Saturday 8am to 10pm. Breakfast is served until 3pm. Located at Mile Marker 102.

The Hideout Restaurant

Laid back diner with breakfast and lunch classics with patio seating. Serving hotcakes, omelets, french toast, and all your breakfast favorites. The Hideout serves breakfast 6am to 2pm and offers a Friday night fish fry from 5pm to 9pm. Located at 47 Shoreland Drive.

Evelyns Restuarant

Join the locals in their fun and friendly atmosphere. You can choose to eat in the dining room or the outside patio. For breakfast choose a burrito, or biscuits and sausage gravy, or one of their jumbo omelets. Evelyn’s is open Tuesdays through Saturdays 6am to 9pm and Sundays 6am to 2pm. Located at Mile Marker 103.

Mrs. Mac’s Kitchen

Opened in 1976, they have received people choice awards for Best Hometown Cafe. This is a local favorite for years. Breakfast is served 7am to 11am Monday through Saturday. Specials of the house include fresh fish and grits and Paula’s Texas Benedict. Mrs. Mac’s is closed on Sundays. If you are around for lunch… be sure to grab a slice of their world-famous Key Lime Pie. Mrs. Mac’s second location doesn’t serve breakfast which is on northbound US1. This one has southbound access and is located at Mile Marker 99.

Key Largo Conch House Restaurant and Coffee Bar

Family owned and operated. They have been featured on several tv shows. Emeril’s Florida, Man vs Food and The Food Network. For the Man vs Food episode, their conch fritters were featured for a Conch Fritter Eating Contest. For breakfast check out the Cajun omelet (spicy!) or for something sweeter go for the raisin pecan french toast. They also have healthier options like avocado toast and gluten-free pancakes. The Key Largo Conch House is open Monday – Wednesday 8am to 9pm, closed Thursdays and Friday – Sunday 8am to 10 pm. Located at Mile Marker 100.

La Marea

Looking for something a bit more upscale? Try La Marea, located in the Playa Largo Resort, the menu reflects a New Wave of Mediterranean cuisine. Breakfast is served 7am to 11am. Choose from cook to order omelets, bakery items, and even a choripan breakfast sandwich. Located at Mile Marker 97.

Denny’s Latin Cafe

This Cuban restaurant offers amazing coffee. Breakfast includes omelets, pancakes, eggs and all served with House potatoes. Denny’s is open Monday through Sunday 6am to 10pm. Located at Mile Marker 99.

High Tide

Serving breakfast lunch and dinner. High Tide offers daily breakfast specials, breakfast basics, and even a selection of lighter fare. But, you may want to indulge in the Southern Benedict. Poached eggs on top of bacon on top of homemade cornbread and all topped with hollandaise sauce. Yum! Coco Plum Place Coffe and Juice Bar

Looking for a healthy option for breakfast, then Coco Plum Place is your spot. It’s more than just healthy food, it’s good food. Serving smoothies, smoothie bowls, cold-pressed juices, and coffee. For quick bites consider the avocado toast and a vegan breakfast burrito. Open Monday, Wed- Saturday 8:30 to 4pm, Sunday 9am to 3pm, and closed Tuesday. Located at Mile Marker 98.

Sharkey’s Sharkbite Grill

This casual waterfront hub will be your spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late into the evening. Sharkey’s offers live music and Happy Hour weekdays. Serving all of the breakfast basics, they also offer shrimp n’ grits, bloody mary’s, and mimosa’s all with waterfront views. Heading out to catch some fresh local seafood, bring it back and they will cook it to order. Located at 522 Caribbean Drive.

Bayside Grille

Looking for a great place for Sunday brunch? Then check out Bayside Grille. They serve Sunday brunch from 10am to 3pm. It’s the only breakfast they serve all week. Check out the brisket and eggs or the benedict Havana. They offer outdoor seating and a great view of sunset. Located at Mile Marker 99.
