By now you know I love breakfast. I can enjoy it any time of the day. Which is why when I discovered The BC Too I was hooked. They serve breakfast …. all day!
Choices
Here is why I love breakfast. It’s more than eggs and pancakes, it’s an attitude. Great food, served with one purpose… to get you ready to start your day. Plus, this place offers more than a bowl of cereal. They offer your standard fare of omelets, breakfast sandwiches and eggs, but they have something I had never seen before; a smoothie bowl.
Imagine a smoothie in a bowl, rather than a glass. It’s that good. First, choose your base smoothie (choices are: acai, green turtle or very berry), then add three toppings. The toppings include fruit, coconut, almonds, honey, chocolate syrup. Then sit back, enjoy your coffee and wait for the magic.
I had the Green Turtle with coconut, almonds, and kiwi and trust me, it won’t be my last smoothie bowl. It was light and refreshing, but very satisfying.
The BC Too is also known for its scratch-made cheddar biscuits, so I, of course, ordered one. They don’t disappoint either.
Other choices on the menu include benedicts, waffles and french toast. Lunch begins at noon, so if you really, really want to have wings or a salad, then they offer those as well.
Bloody Marys
With over 12 varieties to choose from, I am sure you will find a favorite here. On my visit, I stuck with iced coffee but did see several folks enjoying a morning Bloody Mary. Some choices include a Smoky Mary, Mexican Maria, Bacon Mary and the Monster Mary which is served in a quart mason jar, grilled shrimp and… a chicken wing. Let me know if you try this one… I want to see the pictures!
They also have eleven Mimosas to choose from too. Plus a full bar and other specialty drinks.
Gratitude Coffee
Gratitude Island Coffee Co. is their artisan espresso bar that serves up lattes, espresso-based drinks, and freshly baked treats. A portion of all profits, from Gratitude Coffee Company, are donated to three different local charities. They are Key West Turtle Club, Reef Relief, and the local Florida Keys SPCA.
Overall
Located at 610 Greene Street, The BC Too is centrally located and is open from 7:30 am to 2 pm. I plan to return and try many more of the items on the menu. Only problem… which will I choose next?
