USCGC Ingham – Great place to visit and enjoy sunset

Out at the Truman Annex is the USCGC Ingham.  It is, during the day, open for tours.  It was decommissioned in 1988 and serves as a National Memorial to Guardians Killed in Action during World War II and Vietnam.  If you have interest in the military, history or just want to learn more this is a must see stop on your tour of the Island.

But, there is a different side to the USCGC Ingham and that comes out every Friday and Saturday night.  The ship’s deck is open and, for a small fee, you can watch the sunset from the deck.  It is quiet place to enjoy the end of the day away from the Mallory Square crowds.  Your price of admission covers the cost of your first drink – so all the better.
